Getting rid of a bed in Zurich: your options

City bulky waste collection

The City of Zurich collects bulky waste for a fee, but only from the kerb. You usually have to take the bed apart and carry it down yourself.

Take-back by the furniture store

Furniture stores usually only take old furniture when they deliver a new piece, and even that costs extra.

Brockenhaus (second-hand shop)

Brockis sometimes collect furniture in good condition for free, but only pieces they can sell, and often with a wait.

We collect the bed whole or in parts from the bedroom, from any floor. We take the mattress and slatted base too.

Box-spring beds are heavy and bulky, often heavier than you'd think. That's exactly what we're here for: we carry, you don't.

Wood and metal from the bed frame are recycled separately where possible.

Frequently asked questions

What does bed disposal cost in Zurich?

A 140x200 cm bed costs CHF 90 without and CHF 130 with mattress. A 160x200 cm box-spring bed costs CHF 150, each including carrying, transport and disposal. There is a minimum charge of CHF 90 per pickup.

Do I need to take the bed apart first?

Usually not. If something needs taking apart, we include that in the price.

Do you collect children's, loft and bunk beds?

Yes. A children's bed costs CHF 65, a loft bed CHF 115 and a bunk bed CHF 145, each without mattress.

Does it cost more if I live on the 4th floor without a lift?

No. Carrying from any floor is included in the price, with or without a lift.

How soon can you come?

That depends on how busy we are. With Express we can collect as early as the next working day, depending on availability (+CHF 30).

If you're flexible, choose a Flex date: we pick the day within 7 days and you save 10%.
