Getting rid of a sofa in Zurich: your options

City bulky waste collection

The City of Zurich collects bulky waste for a fee, but only from the kerb. You have to carry the sofa down yourself, and long sofas often exceed the size limit per item.

Drive to a recycling centre

The fee depends on the weight. You'll need a car or van, a second person and usually half a day.

Brockenhaus (second-hand shop)

Brockis sometimes collect furniture in good condition for free, but only pieces they can sell, and often with a wait.

What happens to your sofa?

We take your sofa to the right disposal or recycling point. Wood, metal and upholstery are recycled separately where possible.

What does sofa disposal cost in Zurich?

A 2-seater sofa costs CHF 95, a 3-seater CHF 110 and a corner sofa from CHF 185, each including carrying it out of your flat, transport and disposal. There is a minimum charge of CHF 90 per pickup.

Do I have to put the sofa outside?

No. KRAM WEG. collects the sofa from wherever it is: flat, basement, attic or garage.

The sofa won't fit through the stairwell. What then?

If it needs taking apart, we'll do it. Mention it in your request and we'll include it in the price.

Can you take several pieces of furniture at once?

Yes. Several items in one pickup cost less than separate visits. Just list everything in your request.

How soon can you come?

That depends on how busy we are. With Express we can collect as early as the next working day, depending on availability (+CHF 30).

If you're flexible, choose a Flex date: we pick the day within 7 days and you save 10%.
